I can't find how to reformat the links/menu just below the top header image. See http://dtr.noisepages.com. It looks very messy right now. Can someone point me there?

I did get to chat on the BuddyPress developer forum, though, and get a little better sense of where things are going. We may be able to go to internal forums entirely, which will save a lot of time. The template overhaul we’ve been waiting for is coming, too.
So the plan moving forward will be that we actually have THREE installs of noisepages:
1. live production install (you!)
2. dev install on which we test changes before rolling them out (so there’s not a mess, like this time!)
3. experimental install on which I follow the changes from the buddypress folks before they happen. -
