Handmade Music: 1 year, 5 months ago · ViewIts actually fairly simple, and i would encourage you to look at something like the TIP31C/TIP31 :)
You should however only use the circuit in a plastic enclosure, i trashed my ipod classic 160gb because some of the pins from the tip31 leaked 12v into the ipod cover.. Lotsamoney outta the window -.- -

Handmade Music: 1 year, 5 months ago · Viewgreat!Me calling it “franchising” was of course ironic! I was only hinting at the fact that I would find it interesting to use the name “Handmade Music” since I find it quite appropriate (simple but effective). There’s still a long road to go for this to happen… but I’m on it, I’ll let you know if [...]

Handmade Music: 1 year, 5 months ago · ViewHi Hanzo! Absolutely; I’d love to see this happen in Italy — I don’t know if I’d call it cultural franchising as that makes us sound like McDonald’s, but yes, I’d love to see this idea spread to Italy! I had actually intended to do a sort of “starter kit” for other events, and have [...]

Handmade Music: 1 year, 5 months ago · ViewHi!
I really admire all the great stuff you have going on with your handmade music series and I would love to create something like this here in Italy (which to my knowledge hasn’t been done yet).
How does it work? Are you open to this sort of “cultural franchising”? -

Handmade Music: 1 year, 11 months ago · ViewHi, I’m new to noisepages, as a guitarist and electronic music producer that is certainly a very interesting project. It would also save me having to take my GT-10 to gigs, I currently avoid by simply not taking it or a guitar!! Not techy enuff to fully understand/appreciate what the full possibilties are practically, could [...]

It's all in the topic, anyone done this before? Something that gets an ordinary line signal in, and feeds the amplitude out to power a bunch of LEDs. Sounds easy, right?
My idea is feeding the sound from one of my synths in Ableton Live to this circuit, thus enabling me to light up the [...]2 years, 6 months ago · View

Ah, so desu ka. Yes, if running around was the only thing that would alter parameters of effects, that would get old. My thought was if you could actually have both orientation and position information available to use. Still, it's an awesome hack, and you guys deserve a pat on the back for it. :)

Darren — thanks for your comments! We don't get that kind of positional information from our sensors, but it would be pretty cool. I think that you'd probably get tired of running back forth, however.

I also don't see why positional information wouldn't work as well. Basically, run around on stage, and where you stand at any one time determines the effects in use.

Pretty cool!
A fellow on the ChucK mailing list, named Les Hall, aka Inventor-66, had the same idea, and he found a company willing to make small form-factor accelerometer boards:

Hello all! I'm new here, but I got a lot of useful information and ideas from the CDN forums while working on this project, and I figured I'd post the end result here.
I hooked up our motion sensing pointer to a guitar as an orientation-sensing effects pedal/slider. Different orientations map to different MIDI control messages [...]2 years, 6 months ago · View
